Captain Guo Xuanliang of Jinhua Middle School in Jinzhong, Shanxi province, displays the scars on his arm in February 2012. Guo broke his left arm in March last year and underwent surgical operation to put metal braces in his arm to support the broken bones. He will receive another operation in July this year to remove the braces. It took Guo six months to recover from his broken arm and be able to take part in this year's Nike China High School Basketball League despite strong opposition from his mother.
