Kashi is a Muslim city in Xinjiang province, China, where ancient and narrow streets lead to Id Kah Square (means “festive”). In the centre of Id Kah Square is Id Kah Mosque - spiritual symbol of Kashi; it is the biggest mosque in China built in 1442. Kashi is located at the hub of the ancient Silk Road. Uyghur accounts for up to 90 percent of the population of the city.
